Developing sustainable mechanisms for care reform

Share

To ensure the long-term sustainability of care reform, CCCSL (Catholic Care for Children Sri Lanka)has developed several strategic approaches based on the lessons learned during the initial phase of implementation. For care reform to continue effectively, the workforce involved in the care sector must be knowledgeable, skilled, and empowered to drive meaningful change.

It is therefore essential that religious men and women strengthen their capacities and develop the necessary skills to implement care reform approaches effectively. As part of this effort, women religious have been given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by serving as social workers within institutions along with the lay collaboration.

The introduction of the social worker role within child development centers is itself a new and significant initiative. Placing women religious in these positions represents an innovative approach within the care sector, bringing both compassion and professional practice together.

CCCSL remains committed to empowering and building the capacity of the workforce, ensuring that care reform efforts are not only impactful but also sustainable in the long run.
